Bari is a charming, historical city located in Southern Italy, and after Naples, is the most important economic centre. Bari is today home to a large student population and a large port. The city retains its historical charm with the old town and balances with a good mixture of modern city living. Getting there and around
Bari is easily reached by car from many places in Italy and is a great place for exploring surrounding cities and towns. To get here from Bologna, take the A14 and follow the signs for Bari. If travelling from one of the more southern cities, such as Brindisi or Lecce, then take the E55.

A few of the most popular places to visit, include; Bari Cathedral was originally constructed in 1034, but was rebuilt between 1170-1178 due to the cathedral having been previously destroyed. The cathedral remains an important example of Roman architecture. The Russian Church which was built in the early 20th century to welcome Russian pilgrims who came to Bari to visit the church of Saint Nicholas is another very popular tourist attraction.
