Parking directions in Sassari
Parking in Sassari may be slightly easier than trying to park in Rome or Venice, but that doesn’t mean that you will automatically find a place to park. The first thing you should do is check when booking your hotel if they offer any kind of parking facility for their guests. Most hotels now offer some kind of parking, which is usually offered free or for a small surcharge, included in the room price. The best thing about having a place available at your hotel is that you don’t have to worry about where to park for the rest of your trip. This is also a good option if you don’t plan on using your car during your stay in Sassari.
If you are renting a car upon your arrival in Sassari, then it is always recommended to check with the car rental company on the best places to park in the city. They can advise you on prices and also on the local rules and opening and closing times of the public parking places.
Sassari also has a good amount of public parking garages - Emiciclo Garibaldi park area - and will usually cost no more than a few Euros for the day, it is also possible to use these parking spaces for longer periods of time if you need to - car park Piazza Fiume. However, it is still best to check with someone in the know with regards to the local regulations. It wouldn’t be very much fun to be going from place to place in a foreign country trying to get back your car after it's been towed for overstaying its welcome in a parking garage. So, try to do as much research on the parking facilities in the city before leaving home if you plan on coming here by car.

Top pick for Sassari
If you’re an art lover, then Sassari will certainly keep you happy. The city boasts an excellent and extensive art collection from many periods, and has an array of fine galleries and museums where they can be seen. The University of Sassari is the oldest in Sardinia, and was founded in 1562. Just beyond what were the city walls stands the proud Romanesque façade of the eclectic Chiesa di Santa Maria di Betlem. The exterior betrays Gothic and even vaguely Oriental admixtures. Inside, the Catalan Gothic vaulting has been preserved, but much baroque silliness has crept in to obscure the original lines of the building. Lining each aisle in the chapels stand some of the giant 'candles' that the city guilds parade about town for the 14 August festivities.
