The city of Trieste is the main city of the province by the same name, as well as of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. The headquarters of the regional administrative offices is in the central Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia n. 1.
To park here and easily get to the Friuli-Venezia Giulia regional Council building, facing the Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia, you’ll find various parking lots suiting your needs. The Foro Ulpiano parking lot certainly is the nearest; while if you’d prefer to enjoy some green while you get there, you can take advantage of the Ospedale Maggiore parking lot: this way, you’ll pass through the Parco delle Rimembranze (Remembrance Park) and get to Piazza Unità d’Italia in no time. If you have time on your hands, we advise you to take a look at the artistic places of interest that the square offers: for example, the Carlo VI d’Asburgo statue, built in 1728, and the nearby Fontana dei Quattro Continenti (Four Continents Fountain), dating to 1751, which depicts an allegorical representation of Europe, Asia, Africa and America overlooked by a winged female figure representing Trieste, as a symbol of the city that welcomed merchants and travelers from all around the world.
