The city of Trieste, located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, is a city in northern Italy that is characterised by its landscapes as well as its cultural and historical heritage found in its old town.
If you visit the centre of Trieste, you can explore important historical monuments such as the Cathedral of San Giusto, the Arco di Riccardo in the Piazza del Barbacan square, the parish church of Santa Maria Maggiore or the remains of Roman-style buildings. In addition to the main historical and cultural attractions, the centre of Trieste is characterised by having preserved one of the oldest railway stations in the area: the Stazione di Trieste Centrale. This public transport terminal has a direct route to Venice, Udine, Vienna and other Italian cities that you can quickly travel to thanks to the good rail connections. The Stazione Ferroviari di Trieste Centrale station was inaugurated on July 27, 1857, and the first train to use it traveled from Trieste to Vienna. The station has been updated over the years and currently has several public services designed for the comfort of the traveler. In the terminal you will find a bar, a police station, several restaurants and a waiting room.To get around the city centre and visit the railway stations, it is recommended that you park your car at a Saba car park. The closest is located on Foro Ulpiano street, just a few blocks from the Grand Canal of Trieste and the Museum of the Risorgimento e Sacrario.
