Sassari is the most important city in Sardinia. It is located in the northern part of the Italian island and tourism is on the rise due to its wide range of restaurants and tourist attractions.
If you visit this city then you can’t miss its old town, where you can find the remains of the old medieval wall that once protected the city, along with the Castle of Sassari. Built in 1330, this architectural work consisted of 36 defence towers, of which only 6 are still standing. In this area of the city you can also enjoy the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas. This ecclesiastical building is from the 13th century, and its romantic style attracts visitors from all over the world. Two museums near the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas are the Museo Storico della Brigata Sassari and the Museo della Città. Finding a place to park your vehicle in the historic centre can be somewhat difficult, which is why we recommend parking at your nearest Saba car park, located in the Piazza d’Italia square. Our public car parks have the most modern facilities and are open 24 hours a day.
