Rieti's historical centre holds onto a significant part of the city’s tourist attractions.
In the old town you will find the Basilica of Sant’Agostino, an ecclesiastical building that was built in the 12th century on the remains of an old Paleo-Christian basilica. The Basilica is located just a few metres from Rieti's main railway station and across from the Ricci Palace, in the Piazza Oberdan square. This stately palace is a model of neoclassical architecture. There are also important historical monuments in the city centre, such as the Porta Conca and Porta San Giovanni, both located on Viale Tommaso Morroni. The centre of Rieti also has a wide range of shops and restaurants. You can walk through the Vignola municipal park, the largest in the city, and then visit the Duomo Cattedrale di Santa Maria, located in front of these gardens. Finding parking in the old town of Rieti is not an easy task, which is why we recommend using the Saba car park in the Piazza Oberdan Mazzini square. This public car park has modern facilities and is available 24 hours a day.
