The city of Cremona, located in the south of Lombardy, is an Italian municipality that offers many tourist activities, the most noteworthy of which is a visit to the city’s Violin Museum.
This institution helps the visitor to understand Cremona’s position within the international arena, as it the birthplace of Antonio Stradivari, a prominent eighteenth-century Italian luthier who made some of the most valuable instruments. His instruments are currently known as Stradivarius, which refers to the Latin form of his surname.Cremona’s Violin Museum exhibits unique pieces from the 18th century, mainly violins. In addition to the exhibitions, the centre has samples that explain how these instruments were made and highlights the value of the luthier’s craftsmanship. This centre, dedicated to music and Stradivari himself, is located in the Piazza Guglielmo Marconi square, in the old town of Cremona. Nearby you will find other points of historical interest such as the Baptistery, the Ponchielli Theatre and the Cathedral of Cremona. To visit this location and the monuments nearby, you can park your car at a Saba car park in front of the Violin Museum. Our public car park has modern facilities and is open 24 hours a day.
