Milan is known for its extensive list of tourist and cultural activities.
The centre of this Italian city is home to the most important rooms and spaces when it comes to culture and history. One of them is the Carcano Theatre specialising in contemporary art, located on Corso di Porta Romana. Its inauguration dates back to the Napoleonic era, when in 1801 Giuseppe Carcano decided to build a great theatre for the city on one of the most important streets in Rome. The Carcano Theatre is an architectural masterpiece in and of itself, since its design was commissioned by Luigi Canonica, official architect of the Cisalpine Republic. This cultural space houses the most important theatrical plays of the season, as well as the largest dance and music shows.Close to the theatre is the Basilica di San Calimero, an austere and singular church from the late 18th century. Only a few metres away is the more famous Church of Santa Maria al Paradiso, on Corso di Porta Vigentina. To fully get to know Milan in all of its splendour, you have to walk through its streets and explore the city’s historical monuments, local shops and atmosphere. In this area of the city you will find a Saba car park, open 24 hours a day with the most modern facilities around.
