The Museo Lapidario Maffeiano (Lapidario Maffeiano Museum) directly faces the central Piazza Bra in Verona.
This museum preserves one of the most ancient and important epigraphic collections that count, in their original core, the late-Renaissance collection owned by the clergy man Cesare Nichesola. When he died, the collection was reorganized and expanded by the marquis Scipione Maffei between 1738 and 1749, starting from the Teatro Filarmonico pronaos, where its still today. The Museo Lapidario is one of the most important points of interest in Verona, and attracts scholars and enthusiasts from all over the world. Being in the historical city center, right along Piazza Bra, visiting this and other places of interest of the city on foot is absolutely advised. For this purpose, the indoor Arena parking lot in via Bentegodi n. 8 is the nearest to your destination; but if you prefer to take a stroll in the city center and get to the museum in another moment, you can park your car in the Arsenale parking lot, in Piazza Arsenale n. 8, or in the Isolo parking lot in via Ponte Pignolo n. 6. Whichever parking lot you may choose, youll be free to take the time you need to completely visit Verona. The parking lot near the Museo Lapidario itself will also allow you to move toward the other various, important points of interest of this beautiful city.
